Winter Challenge & Winter Walk

Including a Weekend Rally

Due to water logged field & a boggy winter walk route the entire event is cancelled.

The walk will now take place at a later date to be advised.

For the first time we are running a weekend rally although you do not need to be attending the rally to take part in the winter challenge

Both Walks will take place on Saturday 13th Jan @ 10:00hrs

Clare will be leading the Winter Walk and I will be leading the Winter Challenge.
The Walk will be for those who prefer a flat and shorter walk. 1.8 miles,

It will be through woodland and fields, with approximately 400 yards on a road.

The Challenge will be 4.3 miles, through woodland and fields with approximately 200 yards on a road, with a long gradual downhill, some flat walking and a short steep uphill, with some lighter gradual uphill's.

Both walks will be wet and muddy, the Challenge will be extremely wet and muddy (unless it is frosty or icy), with additional trip hazards from roots and rocks, it will also be slippery in places and there may be fallen branches and trees and low hanging branches.

Please ensure you wear suitable clothing and sturdy waterproof footwear for the challenge.

As this will be during a rally, the Challenge will start at 10am and the Walk will start at 11am.

The aim of all meeting at the Cafe in the Woods at 12:15.


If the challenge is successful. If anyone going to the Welsh National next year is interested in climbing Peny Fan (Brecon Beacons),

I would be happy to organize and lead.

Paying for your Rally

Please pay your rally in full fee at least seven days before the rally start date

Any Social Fee is to be paid in CASH to the rally officers on your arrival

Directions

From the the East on A41 follow the B4009 towards Wendover, Halton & Aston Clinton, in about 1/2 a mile turn left still following the B4009 towards Wendover, Halton & RAF Halton. Drive about 3/4 a mile and turn left sp St Leonards, Buckland Common, Cholesbury, Wendover Woods, & Aston Hill. Continue up the hill for about one mile passing the entrance to Wendover Woods & Golf club. Hill farm is on the right. Drive up to the end of the driveway and bear right.

From the west turn off A41 sp B488 & B4009, at the roundabout turn to the right and immediately right at the next roundabout, follow as above
