Hi all and welcome,
My name is Lisa, and I have the pleasure of starting my first year as Chairperson for the Buckinghamshire Centre of The Caravan and Motorhome Club.
This year, we have a small but dedicated committee, and I’m excited to welcome a new addition, Marcus, to our team. Unfortunately, we’ve had to say goodbye to two committee members—Mel and Andy Cable—and I want to take a moment to thank them for their incredible contributions. We’ll miss you both!
The role of Rally Secretary has now been taken over by Gary and Charlotte, who have kindly agreed to share this responsibility. A huge thank you to both of you for stepping up to this big task! If you have any rally locations in mind, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Gary or Charlotte. They’re more than happy to explore options and help bring your ideas to life. As always, the committee is working hard behind the scenes to bring you exciting locations and fun entertainment.
We weren’t able to run a few rallies last year due to weather challenges, but the rally secretaries have made sure to include those events in this year’s or next year’s calendar. Be sure to look out for the Apples Rally in June, right after the Chairman’s Rally.
We’ve got some fantastic new sites lined up for this year, including Easter at Sharpness Docks, VE Day at Merton, and Orchard View Farm in June. There are also some major anniversaries to celebrate, so we hope you’ll join us at Hill Farm, Wendover, to mark these important milestones.
Our Chairman’s Rally will take place at Kop Hill field, Princes Risborough School, during Whitsun week, so we can make the most of all the sunshine we’re going to enjoy this year. We’ve also booked some fantastic entertainment, so please do join us for a lot of fun!
We are running three temporary campsites this year at three great locations. We have the Royal Windsor Horse Show at Home Park Windsor. The Henley Regatta at Henley and the Kop Hill climb at Princess Risborough school.
In a slight change, the AGM Rally has been moved to coincide with the Halloween dates. This allows us to open the rally during the day, which I know some members prefer—myself included, as I’m not a fan of driving in the dark!
As some of you may know, this will be the final year of our points scheme. However, the committee is already working on new ways to reward our members who consistently support the centre.
Many of you know how approachable the committee members are, so if you have any questions, suggestions, or ideas, please feel free to come to one of us. We’re always happy to chat—although I must admit, myself a little too much!
We’re all looking forward to seeing you out on the rally field this year. Let’s make it a year full of fun, laughter, and great memories!
Thank you,
Lisa, Gary, and Esme
