I want to congratulate all the Bucks members who represented our centre in the sports competitions held at the recent 4 centres Welsh National rally.

We had Tracey Jones and her dog Shilo,  Clare Withers and her dog Luna, and Steve Cook with his dog Bobby enter the dog show. Shilo won the prettiest dog, and also came 2nd in the best dog of the show. Well done to all who took part.

Ronnie Thompson & Darren Reid, Steve Cook & Colin Randall & Pat  Turner & Ken Shreeve entered the Boules competition, Ronnie and Darren won their first game but sadly got knocked out. Pat & Ken got through to the quarter finals but had 2 byes to get there and sadly lost their game. Steve & Colin managed to get to the finals but sadly came runners up, well played everyone.

Sam & Pat Turner, Carol and Colin Randall, Paul & Avril Devine, Clive Plunkett & Anne Dunham entered the mixed darts team and managed to get to through to the finals, playing against some really serious darts players. We lost in the finals against the West Wales team ’the Cock Robins’. We had a great banter with them and it was a fantastic atmosphere all taken in fun. Well done to the team.

Robert Withers and Marcus Jones joined the Gwent team to play in the volleyball competition showing a Commardaire between centres, well done boys. 

If I have missed anyone else out I apologise as I can’t remember if anyone else took part in anything.

We had a great time, we represented our Centre and done it proud, our friends in the Welsh centres made us feel very welcome and we are looking forward to the return matches next year hopefully.

Many of our Welsh friends have booked on to the Bucks New Year rally this year, I am unable to attend but I am sure they will be made very welcome by all who book on this rally.

Back from another successful wet and windy Windsor 2023. 118 units booked on and safely sited. Lots of fabulous feedback from attendees wanting to come again next year. It’s a popular site for CAMC members so come on all you bucks members out there get a team together and go and have a week of fun.

Your allocated pitch

There is a major risk of fire spreading when outfits are sited too closely together; however, adherence to the pitch spacing in Centre Guidance mitigates this risk, without the permission of the Rally or Safety Officers NO Caravans, Motorhomes or Tents are permitted to be re-positioned by the member after being initially sited as directed.

Awnings, canopies, tarpaulins and wind-breaks must not be used to join caravans together as this can increase the spread of fire and may invalidate insurance claims. 

Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG)

The maximum size of LPG cylinder permitted on site is 15 kilograms.

Cylinders should be stored upright in the locker provided by the outfit manufacturer. The Caravan and Motorhome Club strongly advises against the use of external LPG cylinders on site. Ralliers who do use external LPG cylinders must ensure that the cylinders are secured adequately, to ensure they cannot be knocked over or accidentally fall, it is essential that these rules are followed.

The centre will ensure that all members only have 15 kg bottles or smaller as per Club rules.

Fire Safety

We recommend that guests have a fire extinguisher, fire blanket and smoke alarm in their outfit. These should be checked and serviced regularly so they’re always ready to use. Fire buckets are very handy, too, but must not be used on electrical fires.

Open fires are not allowed, unless permitted by the Rally Officer, under the authority of the landowner.  Approval for the use of barbeques, gas lights, gas heaters and fire pits also rests with the Rally Officer based on the undertaking of the risk assessment.

They should be sited well away from outfits and raised off the ground to avoid fire risk and damage to the grass.  It is recommended that all outfits carry a suitable British Standards (BS) approved fire extinguisher.

Failure to comply with any of the above will result in you being told to leave the rally immediately.

CAMC rules are in place for your safety.

I would just like to bring to the attention of all members, that we have discovered that at least 30% of our current rallying members who think they are registered members of our centre have not renewed their centre membership when their CAMC membership was renewed.

This brings into question the rules for our Attendance Trophy and Rally Reward Points.

As stated, all members that qualify for the Attendance Shield and Rally Reward Points MUST be Centre members throughout the full year.

I would also like to point out that the Centre Membership rule also applies to members that have been Nominated, Proposed and Seconded for Officer or Committee positions at our AGM, where these individuals must have been centre members on 8th October 2022

We have had proposed committee members that have had to withdraw from election and proposed committee members that have been nominated or seconded by non-centre members that will now have to be Co opted at a later date.

When attending the Centre AGM, I would just like to remind members that the published CAMC list of 7th October 2022 of Centre Membership will be used to confirm your membership and not the details shown on your On-Line membership card, which updates the minute you join or re-join a centre.

Unfortunately, to keep within the rules and regulations of the CAMC, non centre members, those that are not named on the CAMC list may attend but will not be able to vote or speak at the AGM.

Regarding the Attendance Shield & Rally Reward Scheme, the committee has confirmed that as this is the first year of the reward scheme we will relax the rules slightly, allowing all to receive their vouchers earned during the past year, the same relaxing of the membership rule for the attendance shield will also apply.

Any member that receives a voucher must be a Buckinghamshire member before any of its value can be used against a rally for the next 12 months. Each time a member uses a voucher when booking a rally, a check will be made against the current CAMC list to ensure that they are a current Bucks member at that time.

Please always renew your centre membership at the time of your CAMC renews as we will not be changing the rules regarding your attendance or points at the AGM in 2023 and you will also miss out on any centre rewards or future benefits.

Hi All

I just wanted to bring you all up to date on some centre decisions that have recently been taken that will be a benefit to all our Buckinghamshire Members.

1. The Members Rally Reward Scheme 21/22 will come to an end after our Halloween Rally at the end of October. Your points will be converted into vouchers and presented at our AGM in November.

If you have not reached the next level of points (number of rallies attended) you will only receive the lower, completed award that you have achieved as follows: -

Attend 5 rallies you will receive £15.00 Voucher

Attend 10 Rallies you will receive £25.00 Voucher

Attend 15 Rallies you will receive £ 45.00 Voucher

Attend 20 or more you will receive £55.00 Voucher

You must have booked your rallies via the website, to ensure your rally attendances are recorded for the awards.

There is no cash value of the voucher £0.0001p.

Your voucher can be used in part or full payment for any of your future Bucks Rally Fees (not social fees) booked via the centre website to a maximum of twenty-five pounds until its value is exhausted, commencing with the Christmas rally this year until the rally preceding the AGM in 2023, any unused value at the end scheme will be lost and not carried over to the following year.

2. It has been agreed that the Rally Reward Scheme will again operate for the following year with the collection of points commencing with the AGM Rally 2022.

3. To try to encourage new members to join our committee it has been agreed that committee members will not pay a rally fee for any further committee led rallies. The committee is a hard-working team, and they should be rewarded for their outstanding efforts running committee led rallies.

4. Please consider joining our committee, it would be great to get lots of nominations, this will give you the members a chance to vote for who you want to represent the membership. We hold committee meetings once a month via Zoom then every quarter face to face locally or on a rally if we are all there.

5. Committee and Officers nomination forms can be downloaded via the website & will also be available at all rallies up to Halloween.

The nominations are now open for your committee & officers’ positions 2022/2023, you can download the nomination form from our website or obtain one on the rally field. Lots of nominations would be great, the more the merrier, then centre members can vote for who they want (or don’t want).

Moving on to 2023 rallies, all those shown on the website have all been confirmed, but we do need rally officers to take the 5 remaining rallies. Please let me know as soon as possible and we can promote your rally on the website and encourage members to book on, its never too soon.

18th - 20th August - Kingston Blount

25th - 28th August - Emberton Park (Bank holiday)

27th - 29th October - Halloween Princes Risborough

1st - 3rd December - Christmas Party Princes Risborough

28th Dec - 2nd Jan - New Year Princes Risborough

Your full Committee are already running five rallies next year, plus their own individual rallies, please don’t expect them to take on anymore.

We have a strong and successful centre but need your help; we do not want it to disappear like many others that are closing or have already now gone.

Everyone’s help would be greatly appreciated, as we can’t do it all without help from our centre members.

For a long time, we have only been able to permit tents on a long or holiday rally (those that exceed 120 hours or 5 days and require the Club to notify the Local Authority). The Executive Committee has now agreed to amend this to permit tents on ALL rallies - whether long or short! The is also some clarity that tents are also permitted to be used by members, who may be between outfits or have chosen to use a tent instead.

This is great news as I am aware that a lot of you want to encourage more people to join our rallies.

The rally due to take place at Cookham has been replaced by Wendover Woods, as the field at Cookham is not useable as the dig is still underway.

For personal reasons the Centre Vice Chairman & Rally Secretary have resigned their positions.

We have been able to react to this very quickly and Gary Scott has kindly agreed to take over as Acting Vice Chairman.

For any Rally Secretary information, please contact the Chairman Adrian Dawson who has also agreed to take over those duties until a permanent replacement is found.

Hello everyone.

I just want to give you a brief update as agreed by your new 21/22 committee (so far).

Our aim is to give the Buckinghamshire members a little more.

Firstly, at our members request we now intend to hold our Centre AGM and include a black tie Dinner Dance in the evening. (further details to follow soon) this will take place on the weekend 11th -13th November 2022.

Next, the Chairman’s rally in June taking place next to Wendover Woods will be a big, discounted rally for Bucks members. (Non-Centre members will pay normal fees)

We intend to run the rally with full live entertainment throughout the weekend & also provide a Chairman’s Reception on the Saturday afternoon with cheese, wine beer etc supplied.

The total cost to Buckinghamshire members is per van not per person Friday to Sunday including all social activities will be £5.00. (Five Pounds)

We are also introducing a Discount Voucher Scheme for our rallying members. The voucher scheme will run initially for 12 months from the recent AGM to next years AGM and will be awarded to members whilst collecting their attendance plaques, these can be used redeemed against further Buckinghamshire Centre rallies in the coming year (2023)

The Scheme: -

Attend 5 rallies you will receive £15.00 Voucher

Attend 10 Rallies you will receive £25.00 Voucher

Attend 15 Rallies you will receive £ 45.00 Voucher

Attend 20 or more you will receive £55.00 Voucher

You must book your rallies via the website, to ensure your rally attendances are recorded for the awards.

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT

During 2021 any social events we have held have been outside/event shelters.

As we now move to our social events indoors for the winter season, we would request that anyone attending takes a Lateral Flow Test beforehand and records their results at Gov.uk, you would then receive your results to your mobile phone or email address.

The Centre is taking this action to secure your health & safety, and we hope all members will understand the reasons for this request.

Should you get a positive result when testing, you must follow the government guidelines and DO NOT attend. Any payment you have made for that particular rally will be refunded on the presentation of the Gov.uk confirmation email.

As we move into Spring & Summer 2022 we should be able to relax these rules again for all outdoor events.

Hello all - I have just published the updated list of next years (2022) rallies on the centre website.

You will see that there is now a chance of a second holiday rally taking place, but we are awaiting confirmation.

We need rally officers to come forward to fill the gaps, (the sheet is colour coded the key is at the top).

If you want to run any rally you do not need to stick to Fri to Sun, days each side can be added where possible.

If you want to run a rally anywhere in any of the unfilled dates just let us know and we can include it in the program.

Also, a weekend rally can also be run elsewhere during any holiday rally dates, just let us know.

For our centre to go from strength to strength we need members to come forward and run rallies and not just leave it to committee members, remember if we don’t have rallies, rally officers or rallying members the centre will fade away like others that have already disappeared.

Some of the new website Rally Bookings forms will be slightly different to the previous version used 2020/2021.

I am slowly moving over to a new format that hopefully rally officers will be able to print a pdf for each booking and read it all in a more simple format.

All future bookings you make using the new system (via a red button at the top of the screen) will be forwarded to the following locations, Rally Officer, Treasurer, Rally booking system & Rally Secretary.

Bucks Christmas Party

For the first time at the Christmas Party we have two evenings of professional entertainment planned for you.

Come and join us for a weekend of festive cheer, at a different location for this year’s party.

We intend this to be one of the centre’s biggest Christmas parties for a long time and we need everyone to come along and support us.

Put on those Christmas Jumpers and decotate your caravan windows.

On the Friday evening as well as Mulled Wine and Mince Pies we are having a return visit of the sensational Stevey Gee (as enjoyed by so many at the Chairmans Rally)  to entertain us at 8pm, so once you have been sited come down to the hall to start your weekend, dont forget your favorite tipple.

There will be activities for the children on Saturday morning, followed by the highlight, a visit by our special guest in red early evening, you will also need to "Dress your Tables"  for the competition and evening entertainment.

On Saturday evening bring in your own food hot or cold, the evening will include the “Decorate your table” competition, so plenty of baubles, decorations and glitter will be needed, we will also have some party games for young and old

Our DJ Stuart Lee will play those tracks to get you up and on the dance floor for a boogie or Dad dancing, whichever suits you best. 

All children under 16 years will be free of charge

Due to the distance involved we have managed to change the location of the Bank Holiday Rally to Felden Lodge Nr Hemel Hempstead.

Please note spaces are limited to 15 vans so you are advised to book as soon as possible.

Following the relaxation of the recent Covid regulations, the Government has informed us that we may now travel outside our local area, as long as we stay safe and keep washing our hands, within the boundary of the United Kingdom.

Therefore, The Bucks Travel Company is very excited to announce the maiden journey of its latest and newest train, the Buckinghamshire Express, departing for a trip around Great Britain!

A letter has been sent to the committee from Denise and Brian it reads 

First of all my apologies for not getting in touch time has just flown.

I am writing to let you know that sadly we have come to the conclusion that it's time for us to bow out of the Caravan Club.

Age has caught up with us and also unfortunately Brian’s mobility is such that he wouldn't be able to cope,also it is a year since I have driven the van so not sure I would have the confidence now so we have put it up for sale.

We have enjoyed all the rallies we have attended and we'll miss you all.

We thank everyone for their kindness, help and consideration over the years, and to all the rally officers who worked so hard to give us all the good times that we had.

We will be thinking of you all, and hope you have all managed to get over the past difficult year.

It has come to the attention of the committee that not all Buckinghamshire members have re-registered as Buckinghamshire Centre members as their annual membership of the Caravan & Motorhome Club renews, although when booking onto Bucks rallies they are still stating they are current members of the centre. This is obviously an oversight as it is easily forgotten, but we would kindly ask members to check their Centre membership On-Line with the CAMC.

Some "Rally Fees" have been reduced due to the Covid VAT reductions.

This is not applicable to every rally but only where certain sites are passing on the reduction to the centre.

The correct rally fees are now shown on the "Website Rally Pages" but not on the printable versions.

Please be aware of this if you print the rally pages.

Now that rallies are up and running again, we are hoping that you will all be delighted to get out and join us all on the rally field once again, and at least be able to sit by your caravan and watch the world go by.

There are rallies every weekend during May which are-

Grove Lock 21st – 24th

The Lawns 28th May – 4th June

We need the support of all our members to get these rallies up and running again, so please book on so that we can assess the kind of numbers that will be attending.

Hello Everyone

I hope you are all looking forward to our rallying starting again soon.

There has been a lot of disruption to our rallying program and some turmoil on the rally field in previous months, can I ask that we set things aside and ALL pull together to get the Buckinghamshire Centre back to its former status as a centre that other centres are envious of, we need to restart this rallying season with a positive view to rallying with the Bucks again.

There have been several changes to the current years rallies and once again there are further changes for you to see.

A few rally officers have withdrawn from rallies and there are now several gaps in the rally program.

9 – 11 July - Abingdon Football Club now requires new rally officers & assistant rally officers.

27 – 30 Aug – Wisbech Bank Holiday still requires rally officers & assistants.

3 – 5 Sept – Josie is looking for assistants at Cookham.

17 – 19 Sept – Josie is looking for assistants at the Darts rally.

If you can help with any of the above please let us know as soon as possible.

Our Welfare officer has asked me to include the following-

“As we haven’t rallied for a long while and with my welfare hat on I would like to ask all members to reacquaint themselves with the rallying rules for a positive year ahead?”

Dear Square Wheel* Ralliers and Members 

Not much has changed since January, the vaccines rollout seems to be gathering pace and hopefully many of you will soon get the NHS invite for your jabs.

The Committee has been and will continue to review month by month what the Government issues and what the Caravan and Motorhome Club guidance is for the future weeks and months ahead.

With this in mind unfortunately we have had to cancel the March programme. We are keeping our fingers crossed that the Easter rally will be allowed; we will review April’s rallies at the next Committee meeting in early March.

Governance has intimated they do not expect any Club sites to be open until late April or early May — we will eagerly await what they do on relaxing lockdowns and rallying, etc. We are dependent on the Club’s directions, because if we decided to go against their guidance, we would not be covered by their insurance. 

As I encouraged last month, please make regular visits to the website for the latest updates and any programme changes.

The next Zoom Social will take place on Friday 19th February commencing around 7.30 pm. Please feel free to pop in and just say Hi, and have a catch-up until rallying can start again. You don't have to join in the quiz!

To All Buckinghamshire Centre Members

Your current committee or any other proceeding committee have never been put in this unprecedented position during the current Covid-19 Pandemic.

Whilst we are trying to learn and adapt to a totally different way of life, we find ourselves in the situation of trying to decipher the constantly changing Government Guidelines and those instructions of the Caravan and Motorhome Club.

To keep our ralliers safe we have gone beyond these current rules set out by the government and CMC and would ask that you follow these during all rallies until further notice.

The current Government & Bucks Centre guidelines must be followed by ralliers attending, we have also been asked by the CMC to encourage ralliers not to gather inside caravans in groups of six as this is a very confined area and also not to encourage mixing of groups/bubbles.

We are therefore asking ralliers not to mix their groups of six, which also includes any children, and only if possible gather in no more than their group of six in open awnings. We are fully aware we are asking a lot of our members especially as it is becoming colder outside at this time but we are just trying to keep you all safe.

Some CMC centres are now not allowing any groups of six, and all ralliers are asked to keep to the 2 metre rule, so please let us follow the above requests sensibly with consideration of others attending.

If you feel that you will be unable to adhere to the above maybe consider not attending until the Covid rules are updated by HM Government, The CMC and the Bucks Centre.
